A household trash cart

What actually comes off a bin under hot water and high pressure — and why the same bin rinsed with a garden hose still smells a week later.
These are illustrations, not photographs of customer bins. We are a new business and we would rather show you drawings than someone else's stock photos. Real before-and-after shots from our own jobs will replace these as we complete them — with the customer's permission.

Recycling bins get overlooked because the contents look clean. Bottle and can residue is sugar, and sugar in a Texas summer is exactly what attracts wasps and ants.

Household waste leaves a film of fat, sugar, and protein on the inside of a bin. It sets hard in the sun, and once it has set, cold water at garden-hose pressure slides over it. Heat softens it and pressure lifts it — which is why a truck that carries its own hot water gets a different result from a hose, using less water rather than more.
The sanitizing step is what deals with what was growing in the film, and the deodorizer is what stops the bin smelling on the walk back up the drive. All three matter; skipping any one of them is why a bin can look clean and still smell.
